Rethink your incentives, redesign the app#139

Suggestion:

  • the rewards are mainly a scam for you to pay with your points in order to secure a tiny discount which you could have already got direct with the brand without paying points, but for a product you never even wanted and is not targeted to you based on your interests which you shared in order to get the targeted ads in the first place.
  • the gift cards are non existent. It’s impossible to claim one as they sell out within 1 second. There are probably scammers creating scripts that claim the cards before any human can. Increase the quantity available so your customers can actually use their points and add security to check it is a human claiming a gift card. Also remove the 1 per week restriction. Too many rules for me to use my benefits but you still get to use my data how you please.
  • the points system makes no sense. 50 points for £5 at Greggs while £10 Asda or Sainsbury’s costs 150 points. Make it 10 points = £1 regardless of the brand other wise it is not fair exchange. There’s more fluctuation between brand gift cards than on the stock market!

Bug:

  • Fix the problem with customers being unable to redeem gift cards due to there not being enough and being vulnerable to scripts and bots claiming them quicker than a human can
